Depression is not a catchable disease, but being around someone who's sick like a Schizophrenic is could be quite depressing. I suggest that you break up with him and move on, unless some miracle drug is invented, Schizophrenia isuncurable, and it can be very tough to control as well- you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of misery with a person like this.

Yes! This could very much be the reason. People who are schizophrenic need seriouse help. Refer him to a special doctor.

Yes if you think you have no other reason to be depressed about, it is probably your boyfriend who is causing you depression. It would be a great idea to consult a DR on that.

Absolutely! Please check http://www.answers.com/topic/schizophrenia, and it's highly recommended to coax him to go to a qualified therapist with you. Try to be patient with him most of the times and provide support. Understand his need for absolute affection and attention and be careful when he's a little touchy or oversensitive. However, unless you want a guy whom you want to lean on to and may not be in a position to give life-long 'support', juss dump him and find som1 else now, or you'll land up ruining yours and your guy's and kids lives...take care

yes this is true i have panic attacts and my son has depression,
it was very hard for us to live in the same house he now in his 20s and were both geting better.

he may contribute to it as your trying to help him but i wouldn't say he is the general cause or sould reason for your depresstion there could be other things in your life causing your depresstion as well
