trimming your hair, washing your hair more often will NOT HELP your hair grow. your hair grows from the scalp, trimming at the bottom is not going to help it grow, it just rids of split ends and makes the hair appear more healthy. washing your hair more is not going to help with growth, it will just make your hair really clean! and if you do it too much it can strip your hair of its natural oils and stuff.
eating right may help a little, but wont do it on its own, pre-natal vitamins could help, as when i was pregnant my hair grew like mad!! but i wasnt taking vitamins, but pre-natal vitamins have some stuff that resembles when you are preggers....so it COULD help.
but a perfectly safe and natural way of MAKING HAIR GROW....when you shampoo and condition your hair, give your scapl a really good massage for about 2 mins of each (shampoo & condition), massaging stimulates the blood vessels under the scalp, and what does our hair need to grow?...blood, so therefore, when stimulated the blood flow increases therefore the hair follicle is feeding more, which in turn will grow more...this doesnt happen over night by the way, it will help to promote it, but wont be the actual answer.

First, you need to get the ends trimmed regularly, about every 6 to 8 weeks. Just have the stylist cut off the ends, or about 1/4 of an inch, so you don't let all that hard-grown hair go to waste.
Also, you should wash your hair regularly. Eat lots of protein, like lean meat (lean being the key word) and fish, and grains high in protein, like Quinois (pronounced Keen-wah). Finally, EXERCISE!! Regular excercise boosts your metabolism, keeping you healthier, which makes your hair grow faster. You should try to exercise for at least 30 minutes 6 days a week. Your local library probably has workout tapes like hula and cardio dance that can be rented out for a week at a very low price.
Above all, take care of yourself, and your hair will reflect that!
Good luck!

Take prenatal vitamins. My hair grows SOOO fast since I've started taking them. I had LONG hair and I cut it to my shoulders since it was so damaged and in about 2 months it's almost halfway back to where it was.
Also use a clarifying shampoo (if your hair is NOT colored) or a shampoo with tea tree oil and massage your scalp really good and that will stimulate the hair growth.
It's good for you to also trim it every 6 weeks.

i take prenantal vitamins and sware by them, i use to take the skin, hair and nail vitamins but wanted to switch and am glad i did. besides that i do get a trim every 4-6 weeks (but only like less than a quarter inch) to keep split ends from traveling up the hair shaft. other than that, i eat a really nutrient rich diet, never brush it when it's wet, only use good products, and treat it like fine lace. i also take extra vit c, e & and b-complex and drink lots of water) do these things and you will see a big difference (i promise:)

Ignoring these perceptual differences, human hair seems to grow at a pretty consistent rate of about half a millimeter or so per day, or about half an inch every month (this study quotes a specific rate of 0.44 mm per day). It may grow faster or slower depending on your age, your genetics and your hormonal state (pregnancy seems to have an affect on hair), but half a millimeter per day is a good average.

Folic acid is the vitamin in prenatal vitamins that makes your hair grow out. My hair was REALLY damaged from bleaching & then swimming. It was breaking off badly and getting shorter. I started taking the folic acid & even though my hair was still breaking, it started growing out, Before I knew it,the length was over half way down my back.

My great-grandmother, had hair to her feet, back in the 1920s and still managed to put it up in a bun, when she went out, etc. However, her remedy for long hair was to never brush it from the top down, take a comb, and start from the bottom-up, also... She braided her hair every night for years & years, and never used rubber-bands, for fear of tearing the hair. She used the hair in her own brush, twirled it and wrapped it around the end, somehow. She never had split ends, or anything. Her hair was just beautiful I heard, from my grandma. Good-Luck!!

Vitamins! A lack of protein.Go to a vitamin sorce of info. It's vitamine A or E? Don't wash your hair every night, It strips the needed elements for healthy shiny hair & stunts growth. A product I used for thickening & faster growth was Mane’n Tail.
It’s original use was for horses. Yep….Horses! You can buy it at most department stores.

moisture..makes it grow.. if you keep it wet constantly with gel. if you keep it braided.. and cut down on washing every day. do not comb or brush while wet.. cut down on hair dryer... but wet really really works. there are also hair grow.. products in a jar..at drug store. but those tend to be messy. so just use on scalp if you chose to use them. there is also treatment that beauty salons use to use..an ultra violet type light.. gismo..that sorta shocks the scalp. not painful though.. i heard...it takes a few sessions

Get a trim/cut during a full moon. Some salons actually stay open late during full moons. This sounds silly- but it works.
