You need to deal with your demons, your past is making it impossible for you to enjoy your present. Sounds like you need therapy.

The terrible memories of your past are holding you back from being in the moment of a life that is good now. The only thing to do is to accept your past and move on. You can't erase it from your memory. When I first learned acceptance I thought, that's it?
Is there something better i can do to get rid of these feelings? I learned, no.
Acceptance doesn't mean you like what happened or you end up feeling like the memories never happened. What it would mean for you is that you may not like your past but it will not stop you from living in the present. It is forgiving yourself, possibly others in your past, hopefully learning from the experience and enjoying what you have now.
Acceptance is something you can practice every time you catch yourself in a good and even bad moment and when those terrible thoughts enter your mind say to yourself i can't change that, that was in my past, what i can do is enjoy this moment.

Sounds like you have some unfinished issues that need to be addressed. Counseling would be the best option as talking it out will not only help your depressive symptoms but it will also help you heal. You may need to give yourself permission to have/experience joy ... but that is much easier said than done and finding out exactly what is holding you back is key. I would definitely suggest dealing with this before you get married..... It will make life much more manageable... and make for a happier marriage as well.

Good luck

I recommend seeing a counselor or psychologist who can help you sort out your feelings and thoughts. Its also not uncommon to relapse so you may want to address this to your doctor as well. You should talk to your doctor because he can refer you to a counselor or psychologist that can help you and get you medications if you are indeed relapsing.
