Well. Honey is generally better than most other sugary products. However be aware that alot of honey has unnatural added sugar, which isn't good for the body at all. When checking out honey, make sure the ingredients are all natural and good for the body.
Generally honey isn't all that great for the body, because it does have alot of sugar. However, honey mixed with lemon juice then heated up makes an excellent drink for when someone has a stomach ache or is having synes(excuse the spelling) troubles, and is especially helpfull for sore throats.
So basically, honey isn't exactly great for the body, but it's not that bad either; not half as bad as syrup or candy, anyways.

Honey is one of the best things your body could ever have. You would be amazed at how many medicines and home cures include honey! It is completely pure and natural. Just a few examples, they use it in hand creams for severely dry skin, they use it in a salve for deep wounds in hospitals, and it can be used in a gargle for sore throats. As a straight food, it is highly nutritious for you.

Do not give honey to children under 2 years of age because there are live botulism spores in it. We can deal with the spores but to a young infant/child it can make them really sick if not kill them.
FYI- Honey on an open wound will prevent infections and speeds healing.

Buying honey from a local farmer who keeps his bees near by is good. You get honey made from local pollen. This can help you build up immunities to things that usually aggravate your allergies.
It's not recommended for small children, though.

Yes, it's very good. I myself, buy the natural honey from my local health store. I buy the kind that still has the comb in it. I like fresh, natural things. I put it in my tea, I bake with it, and I use it as a sweetner instead of regular sugar, or low-fat sugars.

Locally harvested honey is the best for your body. It will contain the natural alergens in your area in amounts small enough to build up an immunity without getting you sick.
