It depends on the question. If the person is asking about feelings, emotions, or anything personal, the response will include "How about you?" If the person is asking about objects or places or something outside the self, the response will include "What about you?"

Q: "Are you hungry?"
A: "Yes. How about you?"
This question asks about a feeling.


Q: "How many children do you have?"
A: "Two. What about you?"
This question asks about children...something outside the self.

Q:"Where's your favorite vacation spot?"
A: "Hawaii. What about you?"

Q:"Did you like your gift?"
A: "I liked it! How about you?"

Genetically a pure Jew without any European blood and an Arab are completely indistinguishable! They just have different religions and that's it! @ Eagle - I never said that. There are greedy Arabs and there are non-greedy Jews. I don't know why there are more greedy Jews than Arabs though. I guess it's because they're a smaller community. Idk.

I am trying to learn the difference between those 2, i have searched a bit and found that they are not too different from each other but I want to be precise and learn more about their usages.

Meaning wise I don't believe there is a difference. Saying "what" is more casual and saying "how" is more proper or professional.
