how do I convert .max files to jpeg format?

I am tring to find a free download to open .max files on windows xp

Wordpad will do it.

Max files are created in Kinetix 3D Studio Max, Paperport, Or Cad.

Any of those programs will open a .MAX file.

Here are the freely distributable viewers. You'll have to install one to see whether it can save to jpeg.
