I believe there will be disappointment at first but give it a few days after we lose and a few drinks of wiskey and the defeated troops will be ok.

My guess is the troops will cheer resoundingly when we decide to get the heck out of Iraq. A Zogby poll had 72 percent saying we should get out by the end of 2006.
The troops on the ground in Iraq know this is a complete disaster, they know there is no chance we can "win" (whatever that means), and they are ready to call it a day.

By the way, the "defeat" as you call it, is the responsibility of George W Bush and the neo-con lunatics who planned this fiasco. The troops are simply doing their job, and getting killed for other people's mistakes.

No one who fights a battle intends to run, you should go into it with the intention of winning. Especially in the war of terrorism, you cannot run from these people.
USS Cole - In Yemen while docked for refueling, suicide boat collided and killed over 20 sailors. We never retaliated.
World Trade Center 1 - Never retaliated
Beruit, Lebanon - 264 US Servicemen killed We retreated. The terrorists didn't.
I know that not everyone agrees and insists on different reasons why we are in Iraq but victory now is the only option. Pulling our troops out now would should weakness in America and NO DOUBT bring more tragedy to our citizens.
Whiskey won't solve our problems - victory and perseverence will.

I am a former veteran. If it was my duty during my service, I would go with the ideal of no less than victory.

First we would have to be defeated. The military has not been defeated in Iraq and to insinuate such is just plain stupidity. Have we lost the war or are we losing the war politically? That is the question to ask. But to say that the soldiers and Marines are losing the war as you suggest is just plain moronic. The military is an instrument of foreign policy and they are doing their jobs and completing every mission that they are given.
Don't believe the hype that the author of this question poses. He is an IDIOT.

There's way too much at stake if we cut and leave Iraq. This whole world, planet earth, could change into one huge pebble floating in outer space due to a holocost nuclear war. We are not far from this world blowing up. If Iran develops its uranium supply to such a degree to make nuclear weapons out of it, who's going to stop them from selling the nuclear weapons to other countries. Also if the USA pulls out, say bye-bye to world power status, and this will lead to another war about who is the top dog in this world. If the world blows up, there will be no need cry. Just a final cry and the earth is consumed by a huge nuclear cloud lingering for hundreds of years.

For the 4th time that we have answered this question for you, we will not cut & run. Next Dec. as planned we will withdraw & the other foreign troops incl. British will help Iraq until they are trained & ready to govern themselves. You are disrespectful of soliders & deserve no respect yourself. As mother of Ranger, I hope you are up close & personal if there is another attack on US soil.
