I've personally thought of this question a lot of times, and I've come to the conclusion that the reason for the unwillingness of the west to declare war on the barbaric states in the middle east, is that we are a country of having our cake and eating it too.

Consider that in world war two America and it's allies hated those Nazi's, Japs and, well I don't know what my grandpa's generation called the Italians. Meatball huckers perhaps? But back to the point, today it would be impossible to declare outright war on a rogue nation like North Korea, unless they attacked us first.

One of the reasons for that is because of the liberal rule that has gripped our nation for the past 5 decades. Because of that liberal rule many good changes have come: Civil Rights for blacks and other minorities that has almost erased racism from our thoughts. And, I guess, the liberation of women. Unfortunately, the one thing that prevents us from ridding ourselves of the left-wing thought of mind that, war is the worst thing for man-kind, is Political Correctness. Why? because political correctness' change of Englishes lexicon limits our thought.

It is a sad state when many great ideas are broken down because they are deemed politically incorrect or backward. I read a story in my local paper about a school trustee who was forced to resign because of the use of the word, "*********" in a briefing letter to other trustees. As many of us know ********* is a adjective that means sad, or a mopey way of actions. But of course some people thought that this trustee, who had held his job for some time, was a hate monger and didn't deserve the honorable position of school trustee. I don't think I have to explain to you why this is bad for civilization, but to get to my point, and the answer to your question, I will anyways.

If you've ever read George Orwell's book "1984" you many be familiar with "Newspeak", which was the government sanctioned changing of the English language into newspeak. They did that in the book because while speaking English, you could form thoughts against the totalitarian government in "1984". But in Newspeak, it was impossible to form a dissenting thought or as the book calls it, "Thought Crime". I hope as you are reading this you are drawing parallels between "newspeak" and Political correctness, because there are no differences. Political correctness is the Lefts way of limiting our thought and freedom of speech. Consider how mentally disabled people used to be called, "retards" or "Mongoloids" which is just a waste of time, but has been done anyway. The same thing happens in "1984", when in English you could say," all men are equal" but in newspeak you cannot say that. If you did say all men are equal it wouldn't register as all men are equal in freedom, it would mean all men are equal in size. This is a startling comparison to the events of today's world and the Lefts control of our vocabulary.

But now I finally get to my point, we will never be able to declare war on the middle east, and it's most dangerous state, Persia, until we return to the thought of yesteryear, when you could say and do normal, orthodox things without fear of persecution. How do we get to this Utopian state? you get there by ridding ourselves of the cancer of politically correctness. The reason Islam has declared a holy war, or "Jihad" on the west is because they do not have the cancer of political correctness in their way of life. We cannot declare war on them because of the persecution of the liberals if we do.

So, in closing, we will probably never declare war on the middle east. That is unfortunate because the middle east and the Axis of evil consisting of Iran, Iraq and North Korea, is the most dangerous threat to out survival.

If you would like to know more on the disease of Political correctness, and its origin, do a search on "political correctness" in the Yahoo search engine. Doing so will reveal many facts that will astonish you. Also, a good read of "1984", a great piece of literature, always helps to stimulate your mind.

1. Generalised and racist question.

2. A group of fundamentalists have declared war on America.

An extreme Christian group bombs abortion clinics...does that mean the entire Christian religion is declaring war on America?

Come on, man. See through your ignorance and think.

TO snakeman:

I do believe the USA has been very aggressive to "Terrorism" seeing as they have invaded two countries in less than four years. Its really sad to see someone not lamenting death of innocents. Just shrug your shoulders and go, "Oh well. Nuke the bastards."

You know what, man? These people don't respect lives, and you are encouraging the USA to act in the same fashion? They ar enot scared of us! and the USA bombing them....."Showing them who's boss"....is just going to increase the resistance...because now, you are killing innocents...and people who love those innocents will start fighting for them.

So good job...you are just increasing the hate - which is what they want. It's people like you who are heads of the country......and all they are doing is answering violence with violence. It'll never end. But I guess that's what you and the terrorists want, anyway.

A terrorist cell was allegedly discovered in Canada. This is not a declaration of war by Islam. Many in the Islamic community in Canada have spoken out to say they don't agree with violence. Let's be fair-minded and level-headed.

Islam is not a terrorist movement or political entity it's a religion and if some extremists decided to declare war on west it doesn't reflect all the Muslims opinion. Moreover, history shows that Muslims contributed to the development was is enjoying now....

We're not going to declare war in Islam any more than we're going to declare war on Christianity for abortion clinic bombings (in the name of Christianity) or the OKC bombing by Timoth McVeigh (a Christian).

People who do things like that, in the name of any religion, are on the lunatic fringe and do not represent the core values of life, love, and peace shared by all true Muslims, Christians and Jews.

We are at war with them.
In light of those arrests i hope some people will open their eyes and realize that we'd better start kicking some butt and stop worrying about public opinion about how we fight them.
These people are serious about wiping us out.
I think its time we became just as serious about taking care of business.
War isnt pretty. some innocent people are going to die
They have already
Its about time we got down to the business of showing these people how serious we are.
