Why the heck should we reward people who are draining medical resources, social security, schools, community services, etc by giving them a free college education over a legal resident? We who are legal (I'm Native American) pay our taxes and watch people who don't pay anything, get the benifits we can't, because we are legal.
I have seen illegals given food stamps, subsidized housing, money and free medical care, when American citizens were denied. Yes, I have seen this!
If the illegals want an education, let THEM pay for it not people who would like that education but can't afford it, because they can't get the freebies that illegals get. Give those scholarships to people who deserve them ,because they obey the rules!
If education is free in Mexico, let them get it there.

There are many students that are here legally and there are citizens here that need scholarships and can't get them, so why give them to a student who should not even be here? I think that it is time to help our own students get a decent education so that we can bring more jobs back to this country. Many countries provide free education to their students so those countries are getting the better educated employees, because many Americans can't afford that higher education. Many poor Americans have to go to work at a very early age to help support their families. Given the choice of helping at home or going to school they usually have to quit school because they can't manage both. Sad to say that in this country our citizens are denied assistance thus forcing our students to become drop-outs in order to survive. But if you live in the nice neighborhoods and drive new cars then you probably don't know how difficult life is for the poor of this country. But we do take care of the illegals. They are well provided for!

Anyone in this country illegally should not be in titled to anything.
Education in Mexico is free. They should go to school there.
Chatazula how can you say America is greedy? That's whats wrong with our country now, because we are always helping other people and other countries and we neglect our own. We have a lot of poor people in America that are barely making it.
I know people from Columbia that are living here and they are in titled to more then my family is. They get to see the doctor for $10.00 and their prescriptions are a little of nothing. There are folks at several work places that have insurance and still have to pay 30.00 to 50.00 or more co pay and some just can't afford it especially if they have to take several meds so they just don't take them. I have seen folks ( Americans) get so sick and some have died because they couldn't afford their medicines, but yet my Colombian friends are getting medical care and their medicines for a little of nothing. Foreigners are treated better in this country then Americans... That's a fact, and its not fair....

I dont see the necessity in this. Students in this country have lost scholarships, grants and the cost of college tuition for US students has risen 11% per year for the last 5 years. We need to be trying to make it possible for American students to afford college. If undocumented students need tuiition assistance why not get that from from the country that they are from? Surely there are organizations that would pay their tuition if they knew that these students would return educated and therefore be able to put that education to use back home.

Without the backing of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the idea of giving scholarships to "undocumented" students seem doom.
HSF's attorneys feel it is too risky to continue the practice of giving scholarships to "undocumented" students. Perhaps, it would be more rewarding for the HSF to seek more corporate sponsors for "documented" students of Latin/Hispanic descent.

Why would you want to increase more corporate sponsors for someone who is not legal; and neglect/reject/deny your own American brothers and sisters support to gain the same scholarships. Its time that we start taking care of Americans and America first and only when we don't have hungry, uneducated children; start handing out favors. Charity begins at home!

Every Educational institution has the right to offer a place
for study;the student concerned has only got to submit an
application to the Institution concerned thus become documented. He can then seek available scholarships;if you like to have them extended youmust give more tax insentives to corporations with more spacific provisions for such extention(s)

I want to find corporate sponsors who give scholarships to white male high achievers. I have two sons I have to put through college when the time comes, and there are no scholarships that I can find aimed at that ethnic group, at all.

well a lot of illegal students are here not because they had a choice, but because they were brought along with their families. they should have something to help them out with their school. a lot of them are very successful, they follow their dreams and end up accomplishing them. with your help or without it. and what makes americans mad is what they see they want for them. selfish people. but anyways, usually these kids become the best...damn bilingual, smart,talented...and much more. i don't see why people are so cruel to them...it's not their fault that they are here. and by the way immigrants DO PAY taxes...that they don't get back. and for that one answer i read in here from one of u guys...no mexico's education system is not free at all....why do u think these parents bring them here????for them to have a better future...a future that the parents won't ever have....

Legal Americans should be at the top of the lists. The system was not designed to educate Mexico's youth too. Let them take care of their own people. Oh yea, thats right, they don't.
