A blender is primarily for liquids like smoothies and iced drinks. A food processor is for solid foods. I don't think a food processor would make a good smoothie because of the centrifrugal force it exerts. It depends entirely upon your needs and intentions.

A food processor of course. You can cut veggies like for cole slaw but cant with a blender. Blender has more rpm's but can do a heck of a lot more with a food processor than a blender but the processor can do everything that a blender does.....hope this helps

I just bought a Cuisinart product that comes with a blender jar AND a food processor attachment. The food processor bowl isn't that large, but I only cook for myself, so its fine for me.
I've found it to be very useful and it hasn't let me down yet.
The best of both worlds.

No, you cannot make a smoothie in a food producer, a blender is more useful.

The food processor. It has attachments that can blend drinks and the cheese grater function makes it the coolest appliance in my kitchen. Saves a TON of time grating cheese or potatoes.
