Is it along the Mc/Mac divide or are names just more 'catholic' than others. Are there first names the other won't use? Like a RC would never name their child William or a Protestant would never name its son, Patrick.

This is not a question about terrorism on either side or whether or not they are Christian or not, i read an article on Bobby Sands and it stated that he was a Roman Catholic, but since his name was Protestant, he wasn't bothered a lot. My question is, how can you tell whether a last name is Catholic or Protestant? From Wikipedia: Bobby Sands was born in Rathcoole, Newtownabbey and brought up in Abbots Cross, Newtownabbey. His family moved several times due to intimidation by loyalists, although it was not always clear the Sands were Roman Catholics as their last name derived from his paternal grandfather who was a Protestant. On leaving school, he became an apprentice coach-builder, until he was forced out at gunpoint by loyalists.

The terrorists on both sides of the political question are not Christians at all.

The drawback in Northern Ireland is political no longer devout. The media, who's continually watching for brief cuts and no longer the entire tale, calls the members Catholics and Protestants. The clash is approximately whether or not the British territory (by and large the flawed phrase) of Northern Ireland must stay British or must come to be aspect of Ireland. The majority of men and women in Ireland are Catholics. The majority of men and women in England and Northern Ireland are Protestants. There are truthfully Catholics and Protestants on both facet. The terrorists on both facet of the drawback don't seem to be Christian in any feel of the phrase. With love in Christ.
