Do you beleive that there was a worldwide flood just after Noah climbed aboard his ark? What is you scientific evidence do you have to support this idea? Do you think it was more of a flood in that region or are you in full support for the worldwide one?

None Donald, just seeing what other people believe and whether or not it is based on science of faith thats all.

Third guy, mountain tops and valleys are not caused by floods. Where im from mountains are composed of granite, there is no evidence of flooding.

Fossils up mountains = flood. (oh god if u exist some of your followers could be hit with the clever stick a few more times.)
Load s of societies have legends for floods - why? because there have been many cycles of floods eg in north western india there is evidence of still flooded cities.
Ever heard of ice ages and melting ice caps?
It happens in cycles, it takes a long time - not 40 days or whatever, and surprise surprise it is stored vaguely in human collective memory. Go figure. Or maybe God knows where the taps and plug are situated.....

Worldwide. Evidence can be found in the book "EARTH IN UPHEAVAL" by Immanuel Velikovsky
Note: Written by an atheist scientist. The evidence proved so much that a worldwide flood took place, he needed to give commentary on how it could never have happened. His reasons were unfounded for myriad of reasons, but the evidence is still there, and is a very good read.
Note: His argument is that there is no way there could be that much rain to cause the entire earth to be covered with water. But the BIble did not say that rain alone caused the flood, but that there were vast reservoirs under the earth that broke through the top crust and flooded the earth. This event could also buckle and compress the top crust that may have aided the formation of the mountains and other land masses. But that topic is for another day.
john s is correct. They are now finding evidence that the polar caps have evidence of tropical plants. The days of Noah may have just been a time of no ice caps at all.
BathroomMaster - That is an honest question, and as you can see from my answer above, that the water could have been stored in two places--under the crust (eden was watered from underground springs) as well as a water canopy. Post flood, the axis of the earth may have changed causing the poles to form, holding the water at bay.

So many scientists claim "scientific evidence" and "full scientific explanations" for how this supposed flood occured.
The ironic thing is, if it is fully explanable by science, then it was no miracle.
It was just a natural event. No God there!
Even moreso, if there is such supposed ample evidence of a flood, then Christians indeed have no faith. They have proof. Since they believe they are saved by faith alone, the "fact" that the flood occurred doesn't anything.

Well if it was a world-wide flood where did all the water go? He'd of had to of been on that arc for centuaries for global conditions to change enough for the whole world to be flooded, then erm, unflooded!
That is of course ruling out divine intervention of events............What I wonder though is wouldn't everything be a little inbread by now, what with there only being 2 of everything?
And some animals are difficult to sex, so he may have brought on 2 of the same gender, parhaps why we don't have the dinosaurs anymore!

first of all, I dont think Noah can make such a big ship with a few help.
I wonder, with available technology at his time, how can the ship carry such heavy load without loosing balance/sinking.
Loading civilized passenger today is not an easy task, not to mention loading animals, a couple each! Did he check each of them? And in one day, I assume the dirts, foods, water, all mixed up. No leaks?
It is an amusing story tough. Perhaps not to be taken literally.

The easier thing to do would be to find a point on earth that didn't have evidence of a global flood.
Every mountaintop, valley, every place on earth shows evidence of it.
You need to get yourself some facts and not say there isn't evidence just because YOU BELIEVE there's none.
Go yourself and sift through the soil and see what you find.
You'll be amazed.

Its something that exsists in a number of religions originating in the middle east, but allso in the religions of the native americans i think this would indicate that either it happened in one of those regions and then the story spread to the other or there were two large floods.

I personally believe it was a world wide flood because;
The Bible leads me to believe it was,
Fossils that have been found in high mountain peaks that are fossils of fish.

World wide-many scientist believe this. There is still enough water here today to cover the earth. If the polar caps were to melt, it would get crowded real quick on the mountians.

Darwin proved it must have been worldwide as he said we are descended from apes. As he knew Noah only had animals on board with him on the ark.
