I'll assume boxing...

Hard to say...Muhommed Ali, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis...all were Heavyweight Champs and great fighters, but how do you compare fighters who never got to face one another in their prime? Rocky Marciano won the belt from Joe Louis, but could he have beaten "The Brown Bomber" 10 years earlier when he was in his prime?

If it counts for anything, Rocky Marciano never lost a bout as a professional. And who knows what we might have seen from Ali had he not been banned from boxing in what should have been his best years?

If you're referring to a boxer from the 20th Century, Muhammad Ali gets my vote for the best.

For Boxing, I like Muhamed Ali. For martial arts, I would have to go with Bruce Lee. Wrestling, though it's staged, I like the Rock.
