If we have a hosepipe ban, i plan to do my bit by turning down the cold tap that i have running a small hydroturbine to generate free electricity for my house. What do you plan to do to help save the planet.

I've stopped washing, which has the added benefit of guaranteeing me a double seat all to myself when I use the bus

Joking apart, can you really generate electricity by running a hydroturbine off your taps? The idea occurred to me a few years back, but I don't know how practical it is or where you'd buy one.

I plan to reuse as much water as possible and to have no coffee or tea which are wastes of water. No more baths. I'll save my shower water for the garden and try to flush the loo less often.

when the kids are thirsty i'll tell them they can't have anything to drink. when they are cold i'll tell them we can't put up the thermostat cos the ice caps are melting. when they are hungry i'll tell them there's people worse off in africa. when they grow up i'll never see them again and will live a life of peace, quiet, and luxury.

I plan to ask Thames Water for some money back as they don't seem to be able to run a water company properly without letting most of it flow down Battersea Bridge Road into the neareast drain. (PS Thames Water, it has been leaking for only a couple of months..)

One thing you can do is fill your empty fridge with bottles of water. They stay cool better than air so when your fridge is empty fill it with bottles of water, and take them out as you fill the fridge again. The fridge is more efficient, your electricity bill is less!

Oh, and turn your TV etc off at the mains. I just leave the Sky box on all the time and turn the rest off.

And i turned the boiler down in the winter by a degree.

And I stopped leaving the floodlights on 24/7.. (joke!)
