Who says God forbids other religions? People may say that, I suspect God does not.
Why would he/she/it care how they were honored. Do they care if they are honored at all?

I assume you are Christian. If you take the Bible in context of the time and circumstances, you may interpret Jesus' words differently.
As Christianity came of age, there was Roman Idoal worship taking place. Many people worship God as an image or statue, but the Romans were warshiping the statues as God. This was not an age where the people were aware of multiple religions as we do today. When Jesus said, "The only way to God is through me," I believe he was contrasting his path to the only other option at that time, which was Roman idol worship.
When the emporer Consitintine declared Christianity the official Roman religion, he had influence over what writings went into the Bible. As he may have wanted to use Christianity as a tool to unify the devided Rome of that time, I believe he included writings that controlled Christians into a single path.

He didn't. he sent down the same religion, but, with different sharia (laws). this religion was Islam. if you look in the Quran, it will say that the prophets all said that they were Muslims, not Christians or Jews. its just that after time, people began changing their books making it go by their satisfactory rather than God's.

Free will. We have the free will to create our own religion based on our own agenda and god of our own image, or to seek out and serve the Living God.

Supposedly we have free will, either that or he A) just doesn't care what happens to us B) likes seeing us fight over petty things like religion (imagine a kid with a magnifying glass burning ants) or C) doesn't exist.

God gave us all free will. He won't stop us from doing what ever we want. He will hold us reliable for what we have done though.
