Yes, in fact I am doing that very thing right now. Its so simple. Just got to your local store that sells home electronics IE Walmart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Walmart, etc and buy a DVD recorder. They start as low as $75 at Walmart. The one I got was pretty advanced, and I got it a Sam's Club for $278. It's a Panasonic DVD recorder model # DMR-ES46V.

I am recording some old home movies and stuff from like 10+ years ago, and the copies are perfect, so don't worry about the quality.
