Oh, yes it does. I was in a high rise elevator once, and I pressed the button so many times to get to an upper floor, all the blood rushed to my feet and when it finally reached my destination I was launched out of the elevator and through the roof. Only a radio tower on top kept me from being jettisoned into space.

I hope so... or I've been wasting a lot of button pushes over the years. I like to think the elevator hustles just a little bit when I really go crazy on that button and also say "c'mon" in an irritated voice under my breath.

I gives me something to do in front of 5 strangers that are staring at me as if it is my fault that the elevator hasn't arrived yet.

Time is a matter of perception, the more you press the "button" the "faster" it will come. It helps if you push it repeatedly in a speedy and rhythmic manner. :)

I suppose everybody and their sister does that, including your's truly. Sure makes me feel a heck of a lot better sometimes, or pressing it and pushing as hard as humanly possible until the tip of your finger whitens.
