I would suggest asking her to let you do a wash-out dye. If you do a permanent color, you will have to maintain it by touching up the roots every 6-8 weeks and this gets really expensive. Until you are old enough o get a job and pay for the touch-ups yourself, you are probably too young to dye it permanently.
I think at 13, you should be learning to accept and embrace your own natural, God-given beauty. You will have plenty of years ahead of you to "Alter" yourself, with hair dye, makeup, tweezing, waxing, Botox, etc. Enjoy your youthful good looks while you still have them, honey!

I know you would like to but you have to look at the pros and cons the dyes will strip your hair so it won't be healthy anymore and if it fry''s your hair than you will have to live with it until it all grows out 13 is really way to young to imitate others Just be yourself and when you are older than maybe you can ask again Just try not to grow up so fast

I'm 22 now and I had dyed my hair when I was 13.. ask her can you get some semi-permanent dye, that way it will wash out. It's a bit of a tamer option rather than a permanent dye. Also its cheaper! Hope I helped.

I don't think you're too young, your Ma just probably doesn't think you are. Describe to her /why/ your hair must be dyed. Is it a way for you to express yourself more? Are you doing it because everyone else is? If you do end up dying your hair, make sure you don't do it too many times, because if you dye your hair too much, it's most likely going to start thinning.

Ask her if you can dye your hair with one of those hair colors that wash out in 6 shampoos, that way you can test the color out before making a more permanent decision

In the world of today's young people, dying your hair seems fairly benign. Tell your mom what some of your classmates are doing, and put the request to her maturely and logically ... she should be able to see that there are FAR worse things you could be doing. And, if she doesn't let you do it this time, show her that you respect her decisions, and don't harangue her. Next time she may capitulate.

You are only 13. You probably have no gray hair. Don't touch your hair and be glad that you haven't gone gray yet. In a few years when you are 18, you can play around with semiperm haircolors.
