no kidding...i've often wondered about this myself. maybe its the smell or something in a person breath? cats get just as mad, but then they also don't tend to stick their faces out of car windows.
so my guess is either its the breath, or perhaps they just aren't expecting it, or the fact that it is more concentrated in one area...or maybe a combination of them?

When you blow in a dogs face he isn't expecting it, and the reason they stick there heads out the window is to capture all the different smells around them, whether it be food, fresh cut grass, and so on. think of it this away, if someone just grabbed you're face and blew into and you weren't expecting it you get mad as H#@l but you know what to expect if you stuck you're head out the window.

Ya, have noticed. But then I did a study. I had someone blow in my face- I didn't like it. I stuck my head out the window of a moving car- it's so much fun. I different view on the ride and it's so freeing.

It's different. The wind outside is all over his face and when you blow into his face with your mouth, it's concentrated and stronger, focused more into the center of his face. Plus, dogs don't like it because YOU are doing it and they love you. It's like what is the difference between you father blowing into your face and you sticking your head out the window.

A dog has a plethora of smells when he sticks his head out the car window. But when we blow in his face, he probably just thinks our breath stinks. But has he smelled his own?

The dog probably wants the air in their face when they stick it out the window. I mean do you like it when someone blows into your face?

*ROFLMAO* sorry but this is really funny reading about this. My mother has a min-pin who just HATES it when you Puff her face and will nip/snip at you not being agressive but to say stop it darn it. Yet she will go out of her way to try to stick her head out a window to enjoy the feel of the wind in her face.
Ahhh the joy of owning a pet and the funny quirks they have. Some actually love it if you puff their faces and yet others will do what my mom's dog does and still others will get down right aggressive. I'd personally love to know the WHY they like the wind in their face but not a puff in their face... Humm could it be our breath *LOL*
Thanks I needed a good laugh. *hugs*

No, my dogs don't get mad when I blow in their face, and they don't put their heads out the window. Maybe they're weird.

Because when you blow in their face it goes directly up their nose, where as in a car they hold their head at an angle and also can control how much wind enters their nose mouth and ears.
