Religion is community, faith is individual. We do not need to go to church, or temple, or other place to worship, any more than we need to go to a school to study. It is just an easier way to congregate (pun intended) with people of similar faith.

Because faith is individual, going somewhere where people have similar values because of their faith allows others to listen and interact, sharing their stories and their troubles with others who can help guide them.

Many people do not attend any services but still consider themselves part of whatever church they belong to. They still follow many of the tenets of their religion, be it Judaism, Christianity (including the Catholic and Protestant churches), Islam, Buddhism, and others.

Remember that you choose what to believe... a place of worship helps cement it.

The church are the people not the building and you do not have to go to a building to worship God. God know's who is for him and who is against him. If you don't want to go then don't stay home and place your tyth in an envelope,10% of your income before anything else. If you get paid $200.00 each week then put $20.00 in the envelope. You will see that it adds up quickly and then when you are in need when something unexpected comes up you will have it, and you can always help out a neighbor when they are in need. This tyth is money that you will keep at home this has nothing to do with your bank accounts. One thing that you might want to consider is joining a group of men for fellowship.

The people are the church not the building so no we don't need a building to worship. However God does call His people to gather together on the Lords Day to bring a corporate worship together. A building is not necessary but it is practical, especially when the mosquitoes are out.

Through action!

There is no worship without sacrifice!

God wants to see that you are willing to go seek him out rather then have him come to you.

He wants to see that you are able to give up certain comforts in life in order to worship him.

It's not how many hours you are in service, but what you get out of the service. All in all it's just as much a spiritual tune-up if anything.

because look at it like this..if you had a friend and you never went to see this friend, then how close do you think you would be? It is Gods commandment that we go to church and associate with fellow christians, to stay in a close relationship with Him. God is everywhere, but you have to seek Him. He gives you a free will. I bet if you don't go to church for a yr. you would feel like you had lost Him.
There would be a noticeable difference in your relationship with Him.

Beats me. I think I first asked that question when I was about 10, and my mom's answer was "because I said so, now shut up and get in the car". Now I just go because I found a church that I like and I actually want to go.

We are supposed to go to church to fellowship with others. I haven't been to church in several months, but that doesn't mean I don't love God, or that I can't talk to him, I do this daily. My God knows my heart, and hears me when I pray. It doesn't matter where I am.

It is for us to go to stay on the right road. It's a saving place for us, if we struggle we can go to church and get back on track. It's a place where there are fellow christians that can help you and comfort you. It's a haven for us.

You don't! The TEMPLE is within you...

Church [the structure] is for congregation and for collection of tithes. The problem is: people tend to place more importance to fellowships and socializing more than what its original intent was/is for.

Peace be with you!
