Cold sores are an immune system thing...so drink lots of o.j. or take vitamin c. Also at health foods storesyou can find lemon balm or melissa something. Its an herb that helps with cold sores. Some stores will sell a lip balm that helps. Also there L-Lysine an amino acid that helps out. Basically go to a heath food store and the staff should be able to help you out. i used to work at one and tons of people came in for cold sore help.

i doubt any home remedies work, you can use acyclovir though (its a prescription drug) to shorten the duration... i think... i might be wrong on that
