I am in New Zealand, the mail was addressed to me, with the bank's logo on the envelope, no mistake could have been made. Please advise, as the result of this has caused me a lot of problems with family and I do not feel she should be able to get away with it.

In some jurisdictions it is legal for anybody who lives at an a address to open mail, regardless of whose name is on the envelope.
If such is the case in New Zealand, I recommend a post office box.

New Zealand law requires someone who obtains mail not adressed to them to pass it on to the person or to a postal worker. Violating that is punishable by a $5,000 fine. Willfully opening someone else's mail is a further offense punishable by up to 6 months in jail or $5,000. Contact the local police to look into pressing charges.
