Another one to tell you that you are not alone. My mother tongue is not English, and it is sad to see many natives can't spell. Not that they are in a hurry or don't bother because they are not at school getting a grade. They simply can't!

No, it really annoys me and many other people. I believe some people spell the way a word sounds. Sometimes, however, I too get in a hurry and use the wrong word for what I should use, but "check spelling" can't catch it because it is spelled right. A good example is when I say something like, "Your totally right when you get annoyed for bad spelling." Spell checking would not catch the your for you're and I just assume that my writing is correct. I think a lot of people do the same. I do like good spelling and grammar, but what good does it do when others just can't spell. Maybe they didn't get enough skooling!!
But to answer your question, no you are not the only person who gets annoyed.

I totally understand. I blame it on the whole text messaging craze.
I had no idea so many people didn't give a damn about spelling and grammar until I started reading this site. I just hope the youth of the world still have those skills and are able to use them when it matters, like in the real world.

NO! I have a friend from college that would check all of my papers before I turned them in because of her grammar and spelling skills. You could give a roomful of people the same paper and she would be the first to find the mistakes every time.
My sister-in-law is also a grammar guru, and isn't scared to correct you. I'm fine with this as a teacher. Leading by example is important to me and if I know the rules I follow them.

I definitely get annoyed with the lack of proper spelling, grammar and punctuation. I don't expect perfection, but there are questions that I can't even begin to figure out what they want. I would think that if they want meaningful answers that they would ask meaningful questions.
The other thing that bothers me is when people ask question that do not give you all needed information.

Bad grammar doesn't annoy me unless it comes from a source that you would expect to be well educated. You have to accept things for what they are. Water is wet, fire burns, TV will have violence and sexuality, and the internet will have bad grammar.
When I finally took a college grammar course for journalism I was surprised that I had never formally earned grammar in high school. Now I see mistakes everywhere, but I'm not perfect either.

Humans do what is easiest, we tend to take the path of least resistance. And no one wants to put forth that extra effort so we end up with the grammar and punctuation challenged people. Most people won't even use spell check. Sometimes it drives me to drink.

You are not the only one.
I often wonder if people do not know, or, are too lazy to use proper punctuation and spelling (Yahoo even provides a spell checker).
It can be tiresome trying to interpret what people are trying to say when they don't at least try to use proper spelling and grammar.

You're not the only one. I wish people on here could just post a question or an answer that I could actually understand! The bad thing is that there is a spell check available, people are just too lazy to click on it.

No. I get very annoyed about spelling and grammar also. I think people do it, because it saves them time from typing the entire word out. For example, it takes less time to type "brb", meaning "be right back," than actually typing out "be right back."

You are not the only one. I'm glad to know there's someone else around that cares.
Like, I hate it when people use phonetic spelling. For example, "was"="wuz," and "toys"="toyz." It drives me absolutely insane. I can't even look at the sign near my house that advertises a store named "Wireless Toyz" because I fly into a slightly-uncalled-for rage. Call me crazy...but that's my pet peeve.
