The thing is I am canadian and have been living overseas for the past 12 years, I also have 2 children and am recently divorced. On the plus side I have full custody of my girls. I hope someone can help me out! Thanks.

Have the USC apply for a K1 visa, you will receive it very quickly since all USC application take priority over any others, once you arrive in the US you must get married within 90 days of the date you received the K-1, once you get married your spouse will apply for a CR-1 visa, when you receive this you are on a 2 year conditional status, within 90 days of your 2 year anniversary date you MUST apply to have the conditional status removed, failure to do so is a deportable offense. Once the "C" is removed you will become a IR-1 (Resident, LAPR, I-551 holder etc...) Now as long as you don't commit a deportable offense you are good to go...
Please note, you will get many suggestions from people here WHO HAVE NO CLUE!!! AND SPOUT OUT ALL SORTS OF CRAP WITH NO UNDERSTANDING OF THE ACTUAL PROCESS!!! I arrest people every day so I think I know what I'm speaking about! GOOD LUCK!!

Better check with your ex wife about taking the children out of their country. If she objects you will probably lose custody, and US will not let the girls in over her objections usually.
