Records in batting do not reveal the whole picture i.e. the state of pitch, the weather, the state of mind of the man holding the dreaded pistol pointing towards the sky (the umpire!), the bowler on whom the batsman scored the most, the state of the match etc. I think all these matter.

But when we speak of records, then records have to be considered. Hayden's mammoth total was also due to scoring against poor opposition and the minnows. I ask friends, why has the Indian team's score of 413 not been highlighted. It is the best in ALL WORLD CUPS played so far.

My beloved team's batting is still the best in the world, but some were playing against Ganguly, some were fighting for captaincy, and almost all of them are still fighting for ads. They do not at all talk of cricket. This way they can never play when it matters. What do you think friends?
