Valentine's Day

I'm an intern at a hospital and my boss is a surgeon. He's a simple guy so I'm not looking to be over the top with red and pink. Just something simple. Maybe some roses... or some truffles. Any suggestions?

This is mine and my boyfriend's second valentine's together. Last year I made him a photo album with tons of pictures of us together with cute little quotes and sayings. I also got him 3 cookies from Great American Cookie Company that said "I LOVE (but an actual heart) U". This year I want to do something sweet and romantic like last year but I can't get my brain to think. I had thought of a cake with a picture of the two of us on it but thought maybe I should save that for his birthday instead. Anyone got any suggestions or something that you did for your sweetheart? I would really love it. Thanks!
