I'm in the Marine Corps Reserve finishing up my contract with the military.
I've been on 2 deployments to Iraq and they are asking me to re-enlist.
If I re-enlist in the Marine Corps I'll get a $7,500 dollar bonus for 3 years... but also another deployment mandatory.
BUT
If I enlist in another branch say Navy, Air National Guard I'll get up to $20,000 dollars as a sign on bonus and deploying is unlikely.
I love the Marine Corps... I love being around my Marines I'm just torn because I know my skills are worth more than $7,500 and it just bothers me.... Nothing can ever replace the brotherhood I've formed and the memories I've shared with my Marines during deployments... Plus if I joined another branch I'd feel like I'm turning my back on one of the best things that ever happened to me.
What would you do?
