The main argument isn't really "good people shouldn't kill bad people", it's "there's too many mistakes". It almost seems like everyone, except extreme pacifists and hipsters likes the idea of "a life for a life". I don't know why, what's so good about it? The victim is still dead, and somebody else's mother is crying. If I take ten dollars from you, and give you ten dollars back, you are where you were before I stole from you. If I take your life, and you take mine, we've both lost. How does the death penalty make any sense?
