Yo Tink --
Not so long back-- living at the edge of rural Texas -- after a particularly hard dry Summer and some prarie fire incidents -- we had a four month stint of having snakes show up regularly and on three seperate ocassions -- they found their way into the house !! Believe me, the entire crew was on MAJOR high-standards watch for the balance of THIS run !!
Once we got to Fall -- the situation ended -- and the circumstance NEVER ever re-occured for the entire twelve more years that we lived there !! Thank God !!!

When I was living in a fraternity, at different times we had: one 6 ft snake, one raccoon, about 15 small birds on the 1st floor, many squirrels, and 2 crows. All of them got in through open windows and/or open doors. I forgot to mention some rats getting into the attic, but they're gone now because of that snake. That's what happens when people don't clean up their food and living with irresponsible frat guys.

I've had the usual bird get in through the chimmney but the funniest was when a skink got in because my son left the back door open. A skink is a small type of newt-type lizard, usually bright green or sometimes has bright yellow and purple stripes too!!
Well I saw the thing on my hanging coffee cup rack over my kitchen sink and I thought it was my son trying to be funny and putting one of his rubber lizards on my cups to scare me. So I reached up for it and it moved......I screamed and almost peed my pants! I ended up brushing it into the sink with a towel, scouping it up in the towel and dumping it back outside (because I don't like handling animals). My son and I laughed about it to this day!!!

A possum. It got into the attic of my mom's house and made its nest there. It would follow people from room to room making scratching noises. I finally made a trap, caught it took it several miles away and released it. A month later I see it slowly walking across my yard toward the house. I caught it again and took it even further away and droped him in the river. Haven't seen him since.

Tinkerbell, if I got into your house, would you think I was a wierd animal ? I would think I was the most blessed guy in the universe. We'd just be talking, right ? Not a chance huh ?

A barn owl hanging upside down from a ceiling fan. Had to throw a blanket over him to carry him back outside. At first I thought "GIANT BAT" lol
A palm size tarantula, yes we have them in Arkansas
Numerous birds
Humming birds are always getting their beaks stuck in the screens and I have to go pull em out. They fly right into the screens and their beaks wedge in there
5 foot long black rat snake
Yeah, we live in the sticks lol

We had a snake in the basement one time, and my husband is scared of snakes. Guess who had to pick it up and throw it outside? It was just a harmless garter snake. Incidentally, snakes are not slimy. They actually have a smooth, dry skin, and garter snakes don't bite or anything. They are good for the garden, since they make holes to let in water and fertilizers.

No animals I'd really consider weird, just ones the cats brought in, usually snakes and birds. Then again, maybe you could say it is kind of weird to go upstairs and see a blue jay flying down the hall (cat brought that one in too).

We had a bat fly in our house over the summer because we had the back door open moving stuff out to our shed. Thankfully my husband kept his cool and was able to trap it in a pillowcase and let it go outside.
