Of course it's because evolution made it that way, but I can actually tell you why not having a tail was a favorable mutation, causing it to be naturally selected:

I'm afraid I no longer remember the source, but I read once that it is because not having a tail allows a human to have more endurance when running on two legs than if they had a tail.

Now this is no longer completely true because the average human doesn't have to run long distances, we can drive cars. So we don't build the muscles and endurance needed. But a pro athelete that needs to run great distances has tremendous endurance compared to many other animals.

The lack of a tail allows us to use less effort in running, increasing potential endurance. That's why.

Oh yes... I think it would be cool to have a tail. And I would not mind wagging it when I was happy or excited. I don't think it would be all that silly, not if we all had tails. But whatever.

Have you heard of the tailbone? Humans have one. It's small and useless, it has been shrinking over the years as an ancestor long ago had a tail. We have no use for a tail, but it takes a very long time for anything to completely disappear. Soon that tailbone won't even be there in future generations.

We do have tails dude, all mammals have tails. The coccyx is your tailbone, it's what's left of the human tail and it's just too small to poke out behind us. The simplest answer is because we dont need it anymore. Tails are primarily for balancing a quadrapedal animal (seeing as their head is heavy, they would be off balance without a tail). We walk on two legs, a tail would make us off-balance seeing as our head is in line wiht out body.Hope u got it,mate.

Humans have bipedal locomotion for which they are not dependent on tail to balance , once you are upright your whole body can behave like tail for balancing you can observe it by standing still for some while you have to lean forward and backward to remain in position which in animal tail helps while they are moving

due to evolution we lost our tail.
evolution mostly changes our body for better survival and easy living so most probably we had a tail but lost it due to evolution
But we still have a tail bone to give its existence was there

We must not have needed them for anything or we would have kept them.
