ya voldermort was kind off folish! he should have thought abt the situation calmly and carefully like dumbledore. he was not patient andvery arrogant! this cost him alot like lossing the battle or harry defeating him! he also thought to much of himself n that lead to his downfall!

He didn't make silly mistakes. The mistakes he made were of supreme arrogance, and the conviction that death was the ultimate arbiter and obstacle. And because he was so smart and accomplished he just refused to acknowledge that he might not know everything.

Harry's truly amazing quality was never his magical abilities. He's a competent wizard, but not an amazing one. He was however extraordinarily brave and loyal. His willingness to sacrifice himself when he needed to, and his willingness to fight no matter the odds is what allowed him to exploit Voldemort's weakness.
