And why did Condoleeza Rice LIE when she said the Clinton administration left no plan to attack Al Queda?

It's right here! This is a memo from counter-terrorism coordinator Richard Clark (anti-terrorism gov't expert since Reagan) to Condoleeza Rice on the strategy to attack Al Queda. It urgently requested a high level meeting to discuss Al Queda and included two attachments:

- A declassified Dec 2000 "Strategy for Eliminating the Threat from the Jighaidst Networks of al-Qida"
- A September 1998 "Pol-Mil Plan for al-Qida" which remains classified

Dina,

The memo proves that the Clinton administration left a plan on how to attack Al Queda to the Bush administration. They pointed out how big a threat Al Queda was.

Bush ignored that warning.

The memo talks about Al Queda taking over the middle east, not flying planes into buildings for number one.

And number two if Clinton would of had the guts to kill Osama Bin Laden when he had the chance, the twin towers would still be standing.

What exactly does this memo prove? That Al Queda wanted control over the middle east, everyone already knew that. What happened to the documents that Sandy Berger stole for President Clinton out of the National Archives on this exact question? Why steal the papers that mention Bin Laden?

January 23, 1995 Executive Order 12947

Proposed by Clinton on February 1995 S. 390 or H.R. 896

Wasn't Clinton's fault that Republicans sat on their hands until after 9/11/2001

The Clinton Archives are locked. Sandy Berger Altered intelligence taking documents out the door. So the question is did your boy allow the documents to go forward, or did they get bottled up and covered up?By your boy.

How was Clarke discredited? I never heard that one, must be something Rush Limbaugh made up and his stupid followers believed.

It's true that they ignored every warning of Al Queda, and only held their first anti-terror cabinet meeting only a couple of days before 9/11.

we will probably never know "why", but we do know he did:

Backed off Clinton administration's anti-terrorism efforts.
Shelved the Hart-Rudman report.

Appointed new anti-terrorism task force under Dick Cheney.

Group did not even meet before 9/11.

Called for cuts in anti-terrorism efforts by the Department of Defense.

Gave no priority to anti-terrorism efforts by Justice Department.

Ignored warnings from Sandy Berger, Louis Freeh, George Tennant, Paul Bremer, and Richard Clarke about the urgency of terrorist threats.

Halted Predator drone tracking of Osama bin Laden.

Did nothing in wake of August 6 C.I.A. report to president saying Al Qaeda attack by hijack of an airliner almost certain.

Bush - knowing about the terrorists' plans to attack in America, warned that terrorists were in flight schools in the US - took a four week vacation.
