heres a corny but helpful idea for writers or song writers.
keep a small journal with you wherever you go.
when you see an idea you might like, write it down, youcan aways twist that idea in so many ways.
think of things you like to do.
write what you know
thats what ive learned

Make it sound new and interesting to you. make it somthing that you and others would read. If alot of people like your writing, you are on your way. I also love writing but I dont know if its any good unless I get feed back on it. Pretend you are reading somthing in the future that everyone wants to hear about....mabe you can start like that...Good luck, I hope you really get far with this!!

You could go to college and study both fashion design and journalism. I believe they have such a program at Parsons School of Design in NYC (where they film Project Runway) and maybe also at FIT in NYC. Or why not write a couple letters to fashion magazine editors and ask for suggestions? Start with Nina Garcia at Elle. There are many out there.
