i dont have the cd and the number on the bottom of the laptop wont work - i dont know why - i bought it on ebay might be dodgy

thanks jack - how do i do that - i was given a cd but obviously i cannot get it to work

If you don't have a CD ...why do you need a code??? ...depending on the make of Lappy ...you should be able to do a Factory Default Rebuild off the recovery partition ... in which case you don't need the installtion code

Is the OS still installed? If so, download magic jelly bean and it'll give you the key for Windows. Copy it down and use it in the installation.

Or on a sticker on the envelope that the CD came in.
