I just answered a question "is this girl beautiful" from a girl who put up photos of a girl she said had insulted her and said that wasn't as beautiful as her.
The photos are of a fairly plump girl who is average attractiveness, but obviously NOT beautiful.
And I do not believe that from her appearance she would ever state that fact, because of the potential insults that could be thrown at her.
I have seen many other types of questions from people who use this site to target friends from school ect, as a tool to humiliate and bully them by posting their pictures with a question that will deliberately draw in critisicm of their appearance.
With this being so obvious why then did so many people answer with "she is a fatty" etc.? walking straight into the hands of the manipulator?

Ok Ren, well I was using you as an example, but still if you're in that situation then walk away. You're the bigger person right? She is the one who would look like a d*ckhead. Not you. And putting her photo on a website for other people to viciously insult is no better...

I think people who ask questions about whether "they" are beautiful/pretty/hot or not are seriously stupid and a waste of life on this planet. I came here to answer questions about people who need help, not to rate people who have low self-esteem or want to humiliate/bash those they do not like.
If you want to show your picture of yourself, there are other places on the web that you can do that at. Don't waste people's time on here.
When people ask those kinds of questions I for the most part skip them but sometimes I just answer them by saying "Thanks for the 2 points".

if they put there picture up asking for an honest opinion of themselves, that's what their going to get.
if they get upset when you say that aren't pretty or there fat then they need to get over it because they asked the question in the first place.
they only do it because they are so insecure and need the opinion of strangers to tell them they look good.
but i love answering those questions because it's funny to see there reaction when you tell them they don't look that good.
like "omg how dare you ******* say that to me, I'm so hot and your just jealous"
i think it's just hilarious

i dont like people putting other peoples pictures on here either....tonight theres been alot of "do you think she is pretty" or asking how they can improve random people with others pictures on the internet which is wrong.
i saw the question your talking about and i think its also annoying when people put up questions about other users =\ it kinda wastes everyones time

I agree with you. I've noticed more and more of these "rate me" questions lately, and I think it's disturbing. I emailed the moderators and asked them to ban questions like this because I think they are potentially very damaging to the people who ask them, and because they really aren't what this site is supposed to be used for.

My theory is, that the girl in the four pictures, was her herself.
It's cyber bullying and it's not acceptable. I don't know why other people couldn't read inbetween the lines.
She phoned her and insulted her calling her ugly? I don't think so.
They say (whoever they is) you can tell when somebody lies by looking at them (whilst speaking of course) was it not obvious to see through her conceited words that she was lying herself?
It's also hypocritical. Her self esteem was 'crushed.' Is she trying to crush somebody elses to protect her from her own insecurities?
It's rude and stupid. I agree. It's not right.

it sounds like a pretty tuff situation. i think, personally, that its a cruel thing 2 ever b so mean as 2 post ppl's pix on the net, just so ppl WILL criticize their appearance. its crap that ppl would call her a fatty? do they not understand that she probably put this pic on the comp bcuz she DOESNT feel pretty, and is desperate 4 sum1 2 luv her and tell her she's beautiful. my advice would b 2 answer the ? in a smart way. either DONT ANSWER IT @ ALL, or tell her u bet shes got a beautiful heart.

I sorta agree with you on that. I just don't like the whole idea of people being "rated" on this site, that's not what Yahoo Answers is for.

Unfortunately it is going to be the immature people that are going to make the rude insensitive comments. I'd like to think the mature people ( like myself) read the question and then realized what was going on and just ignored it.
Unfortunately, the mature people are going to ignore it and the immature people are going to take it to heart because looks and what happens to school is their life at that age. I really feel bad for younger kids there is so much pressure to be thin and so called beautiful. In a perfect world kids would be proud to be smart, instead of starve themselves to fit in.
