it is very small.
the jaws are only about a inch long.

and it doesn't close even if insects are crawling over it. Oh, and i just got it.

are the inside of the jaws supposed to be red?

Please do not feed it hamburger, it is not good for the plant. Really, you just need to water the plant, the insects that it catches are like a supplement, not a necessity. Keep the soil moist, not wet, not dry. Make sure it is getting enough sunlight or artificial light. Go to www.petflytrap.com for more details, great site. Goodluck!

The vft lives in places where the soil is deficient in nitrogen. It only eats insects for extra nutrients. It is important not to overfeed it as each leaf pad only can close 3 times. Just leave it to do its own thing. Keep moist as it is a bog plant.

you feed it water in the morning,
then during the day you can give it a few treats of flies
and for lunch just water
dinner you can get the more expensive kind of fertilizer that contains special and vital vitamins but i prefer miracle grow because it is cheap.
not many people know that miracle grow works but my venus fly traps is very healthy =]

Water it every two days, and well, it is a fly trap so...well...feed it flies every few days.
