I haven't been able to send/recieve txt messages, or connect to make a call since about 1145, same with my Dad's phone. Is anyone else with a Verizon Wireless plan having similar issues? if so, any idea what the cause is/when it will be fixed?

Don't worry about it. This happens every year at this time. It's just that everyone is on their phones calling home to say Happy New Year or are sending those mass texts to everyone in their phone books saying Happy New Year. You're phone isn't broken. The network is just clogged up and congested. Especially the lower cell phone providers (like yours) because they run off of the larger conglomerates antennaes. It will get cleared up probably within the hour.

this isn't going to help you much but i am having no problem with my verizon LG phone at all. Sorry? I would say try taking the battery out for a good 5-10 min. and trying that? One little piece of advice for you is I had a RAZR through Verizon and i went through 5 of them before they gave me a free upgrade to my current LG phone. They say that you should not leave your phone on while it's being charged because it could mess up the circuits. Just a note.

its cause millions of people are trying to say "happy new year" to whoever all at the same time and its backing up the network.
