First, you factor out an "x"from both terms.

This gives you
x(6x-10)

Factors of 6 are (1,6) or (2,3). Factors of 10 are (1,10) or (2,5).
2 is the only factor in common, so a 2 is all you can factor out of both terms. This gives you

2x(3x-5)

Start with: 6x²-10x

Ok now, the first thing you do when you factor is:

1) Look for the Greatest Common Factor
2) Look for the lowest degree variable
3) Methods of factoring (difference of squares, difference of cubes, a*c method)

Well. the GCF for 6 and 10 is : 2.

And the lowest degree variable is: x

So you will be taking a 2x out of (6x²-10x)

6x²-10x --> 2x(3x-5)

Now you check to see if you can factor it more. But it turns out you cannot because it doesn't look like it can be factored by difference of squares, difference of cubes or the a*c factorising method.

And your done!
