I love it when a guy plays the sax on a romantic night.
Well for me I like when he plays the rendition of: Piano in the Dark. Its just so romantic! ;)

Sophisticated Lady, alto sax solo played by Johnny Hodges with the Duke Ellington Orchestra.
A masterpiece!

It's not an alto sax solo per SE but what about "I Love You Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel.

Any thing buy Johny Hodges. Especially a solo he did with Ellington and i can't remember the title. Some one reading this should remember. Top alto solo!!!

Quincy Jones' "Quintessence" with Phil Woods on alto is the most romantic piece I know. I play it often on soprano as well as alto and I think it is also in the 'New Real Book'.

Charles McPherson's version of Lover Man. It has strings too. Very romantic.

Summertime also. Try to get a version done by Phil Woods. He's awesome.

"Love Struck", it's off George Howard's "Love and Understaning" album. Trust me on this one, bring up amazon.com to listen to a sample.
