Not really, as long as you understand the principles, and are good in algebra/geometry etc you'll do ok.

Accounting has nothing to do with geometry.

Accounting math is not hard, you will be adding and subtracting values from account (assets, liabilities, owners equity). Accounting is a analytic process. Adding numbers is not the 'hardest' part of accounting. It's remembering the analytic process you went through to get the your numbers.

If you know your account rules (what account is debit for increase and which one is credit for increase) you should do fine. The math is just simple addition and subtraction. (for financial accounting) and some ratios and percentages.

The most important rule in accounting would have to be "What you do to one side, you do to the other"

Accounting is generalized in the equation Assets = Liabilities + Owners Equity

Sample question:

Journailize the following entries:

a). Bought $2000 of supplies on account from ABC, Co.

a-answer:
Debit: Supplies (increase in asset)
Credit: Accounts Payable (increase in liability)

b. Recieved an Invoice from ABC, Co. Paid off the balance.

Debit: Accounts Payable (decrease in liability)
Credit: Cash (decrease in asset)(Paid with cash, you have less cash)

It's fairly easy if your good at arithmetic, just don't become dependant on formulae, actually understand how and why they work.

It is not very hard. You don't even have to be that great at math. Try it and see if you like it.

no not at all, its just like keeping numbers right and adding and subtracting and making sure everything is in order.
so if your good at organization and numbers, which you say you are, you shouldn't have any trouble at all!!!

it depends on who you are. accounting isnt all math but if ur good at numbers im sure u will be fine. it really involves being organized and systematic. if you are naturally an organized person in your work and you are the kind of person who thinks systematically then you should be good.

Accounting is easy as pie, but it gets monotonous sometimes.

I'm good in math and i ace in accounting.
Basically, the format and all for accounting is usually the same. Just have to pay attention and have your foundation strong.
