I think one of my teachers, who I have known for nearly 2 years, is my spirit guide. There have been strange dreams and occurrences in reality that seem very psychic. He even once asked the class if anyone had a spirit guide in class. No one I ever knew ever used that term except him. He seems to know what I'm thinking, and my life has changed with some of the books and films he has suggested. I just seem to have this strange connection to him, and I truly believe this is something spiritual. There is a lot more things that have happened, but I want to know what you think.

I always assumed my paternal grandmother was with me, guiding me. I don't know why, but it was a strong feeling even when I didn't think about 'spirit guides.' So when I read Judith Orloff's book, I followed her instructions, except for not expecting a specific. She said it could be animal, angel, family, stranger, etc. so I kinda hoped for a raven but knew it was grandma. I was so surprised and delighted to discover a spirit guide totally outside anything I could have imagined.

Maybe there are more than one and different guides at different times. He is the one I need for the present and hope he sticks around a long time. Since your teacher is living, he could be a 'spiritual' or psychic guide, but a 'spirit' guide is outside this physical plane. He may be helping you find your spirit guide. You sound like a seeker, so ask for guidance from a spirit guide and from dreams and following your intuitions. Speak to your teacher about the things that have happened to you. Let us know what you learn.

It's said when we first get in the spirit world, we can do what we want. But sooner or later we have to go to school. Our spirit is a powerful being that can go anywhere it wants just by thinking about it. And we have to learn self-control. One of our first assignments is to watch over a human being during their life. Myself, I have spirits trying to speak to me. We have telepathic ability. It starts out as a "clicking" sound in your inner ear, that you can actually feel. But I don't particularly fancy having a spirit talking in my head. I want to do spirit travel and "see" what I'm talking to! Wish me luck, I"m not there yet!

Ability to read other people's mind is a psychological prowess, a special kind of intelligence that is developed through experience and wisdom.... and it has nothing to do with the spirit in my view. I like to ignore the teacher and take only the spiritual teachings for what they are worth.... most of these gurus and guides seem to set out to reform the world even as they struggle to reform themselves!!

He may be part of your soul family during this incarnation, but not a spirit guide. The very name--spirit--implies not in the physical. You could also have had a strong connection in a prior life.

That could be true. If he knows the meaning of life then he is a guide. We call them gurus when they are embodied. Other wise they are not in physical bodies if they are spirit guides. We have many who are guiding us, it really depends on us and if we are really seeking the Absolute Truth. Someone can tell us the highest truth, but if we are not ready to receive it due to false pride and ego then we can't hear or realize what they say. Did you know that we are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies. This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. We fell here due to envying Gods position. He made the material world for those who want to try to live separately from Him (Which is impossible because He is actually everywhere). After many lifetimes of trying to be happy in this temporary world, one becomes frustrated and board and begins to question their existence. We then seek out real happiness, and when one becomes sincere God reveals how to come back Home. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga), which begins with the chanting of the Maha Mantra, (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion), which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life, they can give up all material attachments and fully surrender to God and return to the eternal Kingdom, where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. For info. Go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita- As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com can be read on lien. Here is the highest wisdom, you have free will to seek out and follow or to ignor and go on in dream of illusion.

Why can it not be that he is interpreting your needs because he is an experienced teacher? This is what teachers do: assess a pupil's needs, guide their thinking, etc.

Don't complicate matters where there's nothing to complicate.

We could all use every guide to find our way. If you discover one, make use of it.
