What do other time zones do for New Years?

Im from New York so the ball drop in Times Square is the right time for me but what do other time zones do for new years. does each major city have its own ball drop? or do they just celebrate it without a ball drop

No other places don't have ball drops, lots of places have different kinds of parties, but many people watch the NYC ball drop also, it is taped and delayed for other zones. Hasn't dropped yet here.

every city has a ball. i think it's the law.
