There isn't going to be another game console coming out anytime soon. The PS3 will be around for a long time. A new Sony console may come out in 4-5 years.
The PS3 is the best system avaliable because it has : Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, Built in WiFi, Web browser, Every PS3 except for the 40GB is backward compatible with Thousands of PS1 and PS2 games, Every PS3 except for the 20GB and 40GB PS3's have flash card slots, Free Online play, and more advanced technology.
Does the Xbox 360 have anything of what I listed above.... Nope. The Xbox 360 is only backward compatible with several hundred original Xbox games and that's it. Everything else like the HD-DVD and Wireless Adapter have to be purchased separately. And you have to pay to play online with the Xbox 360. And most of all, the Xbox 360's are VERY faulty and still have the dreaded Red Ring of Death hardware failure.
The PS3 is more reliable, it has more built in features, and it is the future of gaming. Plus the PS3 has bigger exclusives coming in 2008 and more exclusives coming in 2008 than the Xbox 360.

I have a ps3 and play a 360 too, I like the ps3 better for something over the 360.
Either one is a fun system to have.
