i heard phamarcist get hire by cvs or drug store owner ..is that true?

u know that alot of pharmacist work in the cvs right so that mean i must have to be hire by the cvs owner to get hired so isn't that mean u won't get to be ur own boss like a dentist or a docter and have ur own office .... and do still get the same salaries .....im confuse at this point ..soo plzz comment me

You can go either way. If you have the finances, you can open your own pharmacy. It would probably benefit you to work for a CVS/Walgreens/Target/Walmart etc first. You can work in a location where you might want to start your own business one day. Provide great and reliable customer service, and then open up your own Pharmacy. The customers that love you will be very likely to follow you (providing you are able to accept their insurance of course).

Even though you are not your own boss at these chains, believe me, I have worked for retail drug chains for a while (Management) and Pharmacists are seen as nearly untouchable. I have seen Pharmacists show up late repeatedly, have no call no shows, be rude, and yet they never get reprimanded. They are valued too highly. CVS/Walgreens pays somewhere between the 50-55 dollar an hour range...

You can open your own pharmacy or get hired by a large chain store, such as CVS.

I do know that in Target, the pharmacists are paid higher than the store managers. . . They can make a big chunk of change. . .

Some pharmacists are employees of a pharmacy, some are self-employed.

Just like Doctors - some have their own practices, some are employees of a hospital or clinic, or even of a big factory or the like.

If you have a doctorate in pharmacology, you can choose to work for CVS or open your own drug store.
