The Flint Generals as Darren McCarty re-ignites his NHL career by leading the IHL Gens to and thru the Stanley Cup Final. McCarty's new fervor will generate a quorum in Flint that will bring back the original rules of the Cup: One league challenging the other. I think I remember that from Zam "schoolin'" us on the history of the Cup. Any hoo....The Phoenix Coyotes will surrender the Stanley Cup to the Flint Generals in 5 games. The IHL will proudly own that Cup for one year. In 2009, McCarty will have made his way back to the NHL, and along with the rest of the Toronto Maple Leafs, will bring the Stanley Cup back to the NHL, to Toronto and to Canada. Rising from his self induced wreckage, Darren will become known as "The Man Who Owns the Cup," and will be a familiar face on the covers of all the important weeklies including being voted Time's "Man of the Year." The road to the Cup rolls through Flint people.
