I've had several Joan praying that the abusive marriage I was in would be better next year - of course it never was! You will have better New Year Days in the future Joan.

I've never had a BAD one and I've had 61 !
Apart from today and last year, I've always worked all over Christmas and New Year and smiled my way through the 1/1 shift even though I hadn't had any sleep -like the rest of the staff !
Today is the start of a new year-you've got 366 days to make it better -for yourself- I said so, Joan- and it's the LAW!!
Good luck !!

Well Joan, I don't recall a bad New Year's but I was let down one time. The time my daughter was a baby. I wanted to be out and celebrating... it was for the year 2000. Such an exciting year. But I had my baby and my mom didn't think I should go because she was expecting that whole Y2K crash. She had the generator and everything going. All the food stored away and all the heaters and stuff. I wanted to go out... and I am dissapointed that I didn't Instead we sat and ordered pizza in 1999 and ate it in 2000 and watched the countdown on t.v. My baby was a little over a month old and screamed for alot of the night. she had a little bib that said 'Milenium baby'. But I wanted to go out. I learned that you should never let you be cautious or fearful. I learned that you need to live your life your way because it is after all, your life. I was dissapointed. But it was my choice, so I have no one to blame... no victims, only volunteers, as they say.
I don't get drunk on New Year's because I am a mom, so I spend it with my kids usually... (sometimes I stick a drink my glass and drink my 'pop'... shhhh, lol). Last night I didnt' drink, but my daughter and I had fun. She really gets into those types of things, lol

Well Joan it must have been 1996, Had a good night out (N.Y's eve) woke up feeling like death warmed up, and actually vomited(which I never did after alcohol) A few weeks later I found out I was actually pregnant..............so I blame my 11 year old son for making me sick back in 1996, not the alcohol...only joking

This one, my kids went to a party with their dad, he was meant to come home with them about 1am, I'm still bloody waiting, drunken b@st@rd, I'm going to f*cking kill him!
Nanny Chris - No he's not driving, apparently he'd never have got a taxi so they all stayed over, he never even phoned to tell me @rsehole, they all rolled in at nearly 3pm, there all sleeping now! PMSL, Oh well it's only once a year!

Dawn found me scraping ditch mud off tropical fatigues and
boots while holding a C-Ration tin under an armpit in hope to
warm it before breakfast. The smell of recent explosives, JP-
4 burning latrine waste, and diesel fumes filled my nose. I'd
not had more than a catnap or two each day for weeks and
cold showers descended nearly every other day. My personal
weapon was clean and that was preference more than duty.
I was no cherry.
