You must be confusing him with Michael Richards. John Wayne had married three Mexican women. He was not a racist.

As a History Professor, john wayne's comments about Blacks and Native Americans was racist! When you start out saying you "believe in white supremacy and that these people are not smart enough. Also that the Native Americans "selfishly was trying to keep the country (United States) to themselves and we had to take it! And just because you married 2 or 3 Hispanic women does not mean that you are not racist! The draft dogging, communist black listing SOB!

Because his on-screen adventures involved the slaying of a slew of Mexicans, Native Americans and Japanese, he has been called a racist by his critics. They believe this was strengthened by a Playboy Magazine interview in which he suggested that blacks were not yet qualified to hold high public office because "discrimination prevented them from receiving the kind of education a political career requires". Yet all of his three wives were of Latin descent.

Yes he was racist. What part of "I believe in white supremacy" makes you believe he wasn't racist?

Yes, John Wayne and James Stewart were both HUGE racists. I suggest you read Wayne's infamous 1971 Playboy interview, in which he said he believed in "white supremacy", and made racist remarks about the Native American Indians.
