I'm 13. And on my second period. It wasn't heavy last time. But this time its reaally heavy.
Examples:
I had a pad on for like an hour. I bled through it. Onto my pants.
I've bloodstained like three pairs of underwear today.
And two pairs of pants.
Now I'm going to the potty room like every 10-20 minutes because I feel reaallyy wet. And sure enough I am.
Now I'm using two pads to make a long one because it usually comes through the back or front not in the middle.
And I'm not wearing skimpy pads. I'm wearing always maxi pads. MAXI PADS.
Can anyone suggest anything that will make me feel better? Or like? Idk. But this is making me maaaddd!

its normal...when i first got mine i would get HUGE blood clots and it scared the hell out of me. I used Overnight pads at all times because they were long and held a lot more blood. You can also try tampons but since this is your second period you may feel uncomfortable using them, and since im assuming your a virgin you would probably need the "slim" ones and those wont help since you are already bleeding though pants. One thing I would say as a tip is try to set aside underwear that is old/ripped/already stained and only wear them when you have your period so that you dont ruin all your panties. I also keep a spare pair of PJ pants because I seemed to bleed more at night so I used the old pair or I didnt stain all my pants. If you ever have any questions about girl stuff feel free to email or im me!

It will take the body some time to adjust to the changes going on inside of it but because of how fast the pad is filling up I would recommend talking to your mom about this and also your doctor so that they can evaluate this situation further to see what they think is going on.

Ehhh....a lot of people have heavy periods. I do. I suggest wearing tampons...like super tampons...they'll do wonders.

sometimes if you take calcium it will reduce the flow and help with cramping. It worked for me. when I first got my period I had that problem. it was really light the first time and then the second time I woke up with blood stained sheets and had the same problem as you with the pads and underwear and stuff. As your body gets more use to it, it should slow down a bit. I actually still on occassion have to use both tampons and pads at the same time just for procation. don't stress too much. try some calcium and using the two pads is what I did.

Talk to your mom about taking you to the doctor. Generally speaking, filling a pad in less than 1 hour is considered hemorrhaging, which means losing too much blood. Make sure you are taking multivitamins with iron, because you need to make up for the excessive blood loss.
If its taking you more than an hour to fill a pad, you have heavy periods, but are still normal. In any case, take your multivitamins with iron.

Hi Hun..
If Its Your Only YOur Second Period Tottaly Normale..
Youll Start Bleeding Heavy Cause Its Only YOur Second Pluse Youll Feel Strange And Always Wet Cause Your Not Use To It.. But As You Get Them More Often Youll
Feel Normale Um My Advice Is Next Pad You Change Wait Till You Think Theres Alota Blood On It Then Ask YOu Moms Opinion IF Thats Alot..
If It Shell Take YOu To The Docs..Youll Be FInd Though I PRomise I Know Self Exp!! Lol..
But Um Try Useing Like The Overnight Pads Like That You Will Not Go On Your Under Wear And Through PAnts..HAppen To BEfor ALot Thats Why
Use Bigger Pads For Now Untill YOur Older YOu WOnt Go So Heavy And You WOnt Need Big Ones That Often..
Good Luckk Your Fine Honeyy Lol
Happy New Years...

I have a suuuper heavy period too :( Its awful. The only thing that comforts me is knowing my baby (whenever i have one) will be nice and cozy in there :) anyways. Try using tampons. I know they may sound scary or painful, but they are neither of those things! They're actually comfortable and convenient. Seriously, they're my lifesavers. I used to have the same problem as you. Try using the smallest ones you can, labeled Slender or Slim if you can find any, or try Lites. Regulars can even work. Also, first-timers should use Pearl or plastic applicators.

I believe you might be exaggerating some. I've never had a problem with leaking through my Stayfree maxi pads and I've had some heavy periods.

talk to your mom about this. She may be concerned about you bleeding too much.
