It's the experience. Enjoy the experience. Buddhism tells us to Be Here Now. Live in the moment and enjoy each one. What is death? It will be just another new experience.

Well, you are not saying anything I haven't thought, so if you're crazy, I am, too. I continue living despite it all by ignoring the world at large. I seldom watch national news and never international because I am just not interested, unless it's something remarkable like some disaster that catches my attention. I have noticed that regardless of what's going on outside my immediate area it has never affected me in anyway, so I don't care who's in office or who we're at war with, etc. Especially who we're at war with. Calling the invasions we do today wars is laughable. If you can count the numbers and name the bodies of everyone who died each day; it is not a war. I think that even the media supports the view that little matters in the long term. Have you noticed how some story will grab their attention and they'll flog it and push it for however long they can and then something else will happen and the first one will disappear from all reporting; as if it never happened. You never know the outcome or the resolution, if any. It's just not important anymore. Because of this rather insular attitude I get my pleasure and value from the things I do each day. Caring for the animals with whom I live and any others I can reach. (I feed numerous wild creatures daily.) Giving pleasure to my children, who are grown, gives me pleasure and keeping up with what's going on in their lives is also interesting to me. But you are right. Eventually every body fails and I have known since I was 12 that if I lived long enough for that to happen, then I would kill myself in some nonpainful and noninvasive way. I have already decided upon the method, which requires no tools and no assistance, only the time remains uncertain. One should always remember the advice of Epicurus, who I paraphrase here, when life ceases to be a pleasure the only alternative for a thinking person is to end it, and he did.

Well, regardless of anything else, it seems to me that I have been unexpectedly thrust into this bizarre condition known as life. I have no clue what the heck is going on, and my curiosity knows no bounds. I am in a state that I may or may not be in again. I ought to find out as much about it as I can and experience as much of it as I can before it ends, if it does end.

What, like I've got something better to do than be alive? Doesn't that make it at least somewhat meaningful? If I'm going to do anything I might as well live. And also, why not have fun doing so?

If we simply die and all of our experiences are lost to nothingness, I have lost nothing by trying to live meaningfully. If, after death,, all my experiences turn out to be important, so much the better that I lived meaningfully!

Basically, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! Of course you should live, and with enthusiasm!

But what happens in between matters, what gives life points. Yes it is worth living. There is nothing sweeter then life, nothing more sour then death.

Actually you have no choice to live, becaue you are eternal. If one takes their own life, they don't die, only this mortal body dies. Then one will have to live as a ghost (disembodied soul) and they suffer incessently the misery they felt at the time of deat. They are constantly bothered by other miserable ghosts. The thing is we have to know this if we want to find real happiness -
We are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies. This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. We fell here due to envying Gods position. He made the material world for those who want to try to live separately from Him (Which is impossible because He is actually everywhere). After many lifetimes of trying to be happy in this temporary world, one becomes frustrated and board and begins to question their existence. We then seek out real happiness, and when one becomes sincere God reveals how to come back Home. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga), which begins with the chanting of the Maha Mantra, (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion), which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life, they can give up all material attachments and fully surrender to God and return to the eternal Kingdom, where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. But when you die, atleast you would know that you contributed to the world so it can continue to go on. I believe that we are all here to help someone or something.
