I love the original musical version and I thought that Tim Burton did a superb job at turning this amazing theatrical masterpiece into a film for a wider audience. I was so surprised that so many people did not know that it was a musical prior to this movie. Burton is a true visionary and he was the only director who could pull off making this classic into a movie. He chose the perfect actors for the job to top it off. Johnny Depp is amazing as Todd and Helena Bonham-Carter played a perfect Mrs. Lovett. Alan Rickman is a fantastic actor and played Judge Turpin to a "T". At first I didn't care for how they made the blood appear, but I quickly got over it because I had to remind myself that it is still Burton film, and he tends to go a little "unrealistic" but that is something that makes him the guines that he is. I love the colors that he used. Throughout the movie, everything was so drab and dark (which was absolutely perfect) with hints here and there of brighter colors for contrast. The story is terrific and the acting is fantastic. I was upset that so many songs got cut out, but I completely understand because he did have a time frame. I absolutely adored this movie. It was phenomenal!

I'd definitely give this movie an A+ because of the fabulous collaboration between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. Not only that but almost everything was perfect for a movie. However they cut a few songs short because it was a movie and that's understandable. Personally, it is now my favorite movie and musical film adaptation.

A+. It was artfully done, the music was amazing, the actors all did an awesome job. The blood looking fake kind of added to it's "Tim Burtonesque" charm. I've seen it three times already and bought the soundtrack. Definitely a huge fan of this film.
